Book Review: Sunbolt

Hello guys!

I don’t do much reviewing on my blog here, yes I talk books when the chance comes, like here and here. In fact the only book I officially reviewed was The Hobbit. And that was because I was enamored. A result of various reasons including my incurable crush on the Baggins Boys. Ehem. Anyway I wanted to read Sunbolt for a while now, and also promised the very nice and talented IntisarKhanani I would review it in celebration of the upcoming release of the sequel or the second book of The Sunbolt Chonicles; Memoriesof Ash (on May 30) so here we are.

But Why my dear Hobbit? WHY?!

You knew I had the heart for you my dearest hobbit, so why did you had to go and break it?

Now what am I ever going to do with my life?

State Of Day. Hyperventilating… Hyperventilating.
........................................................................................................
I had it coming. Of course I did! I knew everything and yet went in unprepared. But what difference would that make anyway? It was going to hurt all the same.
Nothing would have eased the pain I underwent watching Battle Of The Five DARN Armies!
Why do I keep doing this to myself? I feel like a bloody punching bag!
I was left numb, zombie like and drained post movie. I looked so terrible StrategyKidI thought I was going through a mental breakdown.

But you can Not blame me. God! The sadness that engulfed my heart. But I must be strong, I must not let this beat me I MUST NOT!

IWSG: "and I further deduce!" he exclaimed

Hello! Whoever is reading this you already rock :) it is time for the Insecure Writers Support Group post again and I feel as insecure as ever!

I never imagined myself writing a mystery. Well not generally speaking, my novels naturally do include mysteries and puzzles, I love these kind of things.

The Classic, The Villain and The Beacon of Light

Hello People!

Richard Armitage & Daniela Denby-Ashe in BBC 2004 North & South
The Classic. Early this August I took a break from The Fellow Ship Of The Ring (yes imagine I still did not finish it) and dived into Elizabeth Gaskell’s North and South, (I stumbled over it while searching in a website specializing in classics of literature) I finished it in 3 days and I normally take 4 days (on a row) with big English books, but this book, Ah! Mr. Thornton! Margret Hale! What wonderful characters, I simply loved everyone in this book, old but how modern and beautiful and thought provoking and funny and heart breaking and gloomy and optimistic, Aaaa! It’s a great book.

Thorin Oakenshield

Thorin son of Thrain son of Thror Oakenshield
Race: Dwarf
Book: The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien

This noble dwarf has got his fair share of hard life and bad luck. Thrown out of his own home where he was once a prince surrounded by all kinds of pleasure & ease, a time of richness he described amazingly by;

"the poorest of us had money to spend and to lend, and leisure to make beautiful things just for the fun of it"

Bilbo Baggins

Martin Freeman as Blibo in The Hobbit

Bilbo Baggins son of Bungo Baggins and Belladonna Took.
Race: Hobbit
Book: The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien.

It is a truth universally known (says me) that Captain Haneen (me that is) has an incurable crush on a hobbit called Frodo Baggins, but it looks as though she will be diagnosed with a second case involving yet another Baggins.

The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien: Review

State of day. Up on Natalie Whipple’s blog there’s a lovely story from her childhood, check it out.
………………………………………………………..............................................................

5 STARS - LOVED it

So this is my first review on my blog, and I think it ran a little wild, sorry but the Hobbit is Sick dude!

You can’t accuse a Sudanese girl born in Saudi Arabia in the eighties of living in a bomb shelter for not coming across The Hobbit, more than you can accuse Harry & Hermione of that since they knew nothing about the tales of Beedle the Bard. The brothers Grimm stories were the European classics I knew but Tolkien books? No! sorry doesn’t ring a bell, you hit me in a blank place. Should I say more?
What can I say about The Hobbit? Such a perfect book that happens to be the Lord of The Rings on a smaller scale.

The best dialogue ever with catchy lines and everything, best descriptions, wonderful creatures, swords with ancient histories and songs

Poetry people Poetry!

I loved the maps and moon letters, and elf cities and dark woods, and different languages Ah!
(Elrond, graceful as usual makes a tomboy girl like me too ashamed to speak)

I LOVE FANTASY!

Remember in The Two Towers movie, the battle of Helms Deep when Legolas skates down the stairs on a shield shooting arrows at Orks? Well I remember saying to Strategykid that this is how skateboarding was invented. It was a joke of course, I had no idea that Tolkien have mentioned the invention of golf and well known proverbs in his book,

That was SO cool :D
